Laser Skin Resurfacing in Carlsbad, NM

Skin Rejuvenation or Skin Resurfacing is a cosmetic procedure that removes damaged skin layers to reveal healthier skin and encourage new skin cell growth. It can help with wrinkles, scars, discoloration, and other signs of aging and stress.

Skin resurfacing can be done using lasers, chemical peels, plasma energy, or mechanical means. Laser skin resurfacing is a common method that uses short, concentrated beams of light to vaporize the skin layer by layer. The laser also heats the underlying skin, which stimulates collagen production and results in smoother, firmer skin.

At Vita Nova Anti-Aging and Rejuvenation Center, we utilize the latest Laser Technology in order to maximize your results and turn back the hands of time by restoring your skin tone, texture and laxity.

Laser skin resurfacing with the Alma ClearLift® at Vita Nova Anti-Aging and Rejuvenation Center is a major advancement in nonsurgical skin rejuvenating laser treatments. Designed to tighten skin and smooth fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, neck, and chest, the ClearLift renews a youthful, healthy appearance without any lingering redness. Without damaging the outer layers of your skin, the fractional, non-ablative laser addresses a variety of aesthetic concerns, including acne scars, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, redness, and other issues. The laser uses delicate beams of light to remove dead and damaged skin layers and encourage collagen production. This treatment can take years off your face in minutes, leaving skin looking smoother and healthier. Laser skin resurfacing is considered an effective facial treatment for people who want clearer, softer, younger-looking skin.

What is ClearLift?

ClearLift is a photoacoustic laser that uses light and sound waves to treat the skin. It's a non-invasive, non-ablative laser treatment that can help rejuvenate the skin and reduce signs of aging. ClearLift is sometimes called the "lunchtime facelift" because it can be done in as little as 20 minutes.

How does ClearLift work?

ClearLift works by delivering short pulses of laser energy in tiny columns called microthermal treatment zones beneath the skin. This creates a reaction in the body's tissues that stimulates collagen production and triggers the body's natural healing response. The laser also breaks down excess pigment in the skin, which can help reduce hyperpigmentation from sun damage. As the body builds new skin cells and collagen, the appearance of the skin continues to improve. Some patients see visible results after just one treatment, but most cases require three to five treatments performed several weeks apart.

What can be treated with ClearLift?

ClearLift is gentle enough to treat delicate areas of the face, neck, chest, eyes, and mouth, and it doesn't damage the skin's surface, which reduces the risk of infection.

Does ClearLift Hurt?

Many patients say it feels like a light facial massage and some even fall asleep during the procedure.

Dye-VL

What is Dye-VL?

Dye-VL, or Dye-Variable Light, is a type of intense pulsed light (IPL) laser treatment that uses light energy to treat skin discoloration and vascular lesions. It's a module of the Harmony XL Pro system that can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, hands, and back.

How does Dye-VL work?

Dye-VL works by delivering short bursts of light energy to target chromophores, the molecules that give lesions their color. For pigmented lesions, it breaks down excess melanin, while for vascular lesions, it targets hemoglobin. The narrow band of pulsating light allows the technician to treat the exact area of the lesion without damaging the surrounding skin.

What does Dye-VL treat?

  • Melasma
  • Freckles
  • Age spots
  • Irregular pigmentation
  • Rosacea
  • Facial spider veins
  • Hemangioma
  • Port wine stains

Does Dye-VL hurt?

Dye-VL treatments are generally safe and effective, and can be virtually painless. They typically last about 30 minutes, but may vary depending on the size of the area being treated. After treatment, the treated area may feel warm and it's normal to experience some redness, darkening of pigment or veins, or soreness. However, there is no peeling, flaking, or extended recovery period, and only individuals with highly sensitive skin may experience slight redness that typically subsides within a few hours.

There are multiple factors to consider when choosing which type of laser skin resurfacing procedure is best for you. Laser skin resurfacing is geared toward patients who are unsatisfied with their skin's appearance. If you have skin damaged by the sun, age spots, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, or redness issues, a laser skin resurfacing procedure can help correct these cosmetic flaws. In addition, this treatment works well if you have scaly patches, rough texture, or other skin surface problems. This treatment isn't suggested if you have dark skin tones or active acne. Additionally, it is important to know that a recovery period is needed after laser treatments. Depending on their skin condition, certain patients may require up to 2 – 3 weeks for recovery.

What's the best type of resurfacing for me?

Francisco Cardona can help you decide which resurfacing treatment will best meet your needs and goals in your initial consultation. What treatment is best for you will depend on the health and condition of your skin, any skin concerns, and the skin depth you want your treatment to reach. The length of recovery time may also be a deciding consideration when choosing your treatment type. If you are unsure, starting with a lighter treatment is better to see how you like your outcomes and adjust as needed for your next treatment.

How can I help my skin recover after a resurfacing treatment?

Francisco Cardona or a team member will discuss how you can speed skin healing following your laser resurfacing treatment. The most important rule is not to peel or pick flaking skin.
