How Does BOTOX Work?
During your initial treatment consultation at Vita Nova Anti-Aging and Rejuvenation Clinic, Dr. Cardona will provide an aesthetic analysis to designate which areas require treatment. Given that BOTOX is a quick, outpatient treatment, your injections can typically be administered at the same appointment. BOTOX is a clean strain of botulinum toxin type A that will be injected into the problem areas of your forehead or face using a fine-gauge needle. It works to temporarily “freeze” the muscles that enable facial expressions, letting the skin recover over time. The treatment itself takes about 5 – 10 minutes to administer, and many people experience only mild discomfort. At the end of your visit, you are welcome to leave our practice and get right back to your normal routine.
